The first step of my boat restoration project is to get the my Albin 27 off the trailer and into my boat restoration workshop. This episode I discuss how I got my big boat off the triple axle trailer. The Albin 27 pocket trawler weighs approximately 4,200 pounds as a bare hull. I needed to lift the boat of the trailer DIY inside the boat shop. Although I debated building my own gantry or A-frame lifting mechanism, I found a solution in Gohoist.com. The Go-hoist 5-ton A-frame lifting mechanism allowed me to raise the front of the boat while resting the stern of the boat on boat stands, and then pull the trailer free.
